This picture shows York City on the attack against Newcastle in the 1955 FA Cup semi-final replay at Roker Park. The Minstermen, then in Division Three North, enjoyed a glorious cup run that season, winning 2-0 at 1953 winners Blackpool in the third round and seeing off Tottenham in the fifth before losing 2-0 against the Tyneside giants. Among the players in this picture are Newcastle goalkeeper Ronnie Simpson and York centre-forward Norman Wilkinson (third left).
